clothing sizes conversions

I really would like to know. If I am a size 8 in clothing In New Zealand, what size would I be In America?
I really want to know. I have searched through the web looking at clothing conversion charts. But I just cant understand them. I just want a straight answer. Just general curiosity. Im 5ft4 and weigh about 52 kilos. Give or or take a kilo here or there.

Im a bit slow of the mark, so sending me links to other conversion charts Is just going to go right over my head.
I think you’d be a 4 or a 6 over there as their sizes are smaller. An american size 8 is like a 10 or a 12 in Australia/New Zealand.
